Abteen Bagheri is an Iranian-American writer, director and avid musician from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. He graduated from Stanford University studying Creative Writing and English Literature.

His work explores personal and playful tales that push the realms of reality, expanding internationally across commercials, music videos, narrative fiction and documentary films.

In 2011, he earned a Best New Director nomination at the UKMVAs for ‘Peso’ by A$AP Rocky. Following this, Abteen released a documentary short, ‘THAT B.E.A.T.’, which premiered at Sundance 2012, and was also selected for competition at SXSW 2014.

Abteen quickly transitioned into commercials developing a prolific body of work with brands such as Google, Apple, Samsung, Nike, and many more.

Most recently, his music video "HEADSPACE/Bent" for artist Benjamin Earl Turner saw him collaborating with cinematographer Katelin Arizmendi and animatronics artist Alec Gillis of Studio Gillis. It won “Best Hip Hop Video” at the 2023 UKMVAs.
