Through an interface designed to educate and entertain, the Gagosian App was the first free app of its kind to provide unprecedented access and historical insight into the work of the world’s most distinguished artists. Updated in tandem with Gagosian exhibits, the app was an opportunity to editorialize works and deepen engagement for art enthusiasts and hobbyists alike.

Gagosian Gallery

The Gagosian app pushed the processing and gestural envelope of the newly released iPad 2 with custom production and development that spawned dynamic life to the classic masterpieces. We shot 360º video that transported viewers inside Richard Serra’s massive works, overlaid procedural layers of Pablo Picasso’s paintings to reveal his personality, and used gigapixel photography of Robert Rauschenberg’s detailed collages to put users at a simulated proximity unachievable by the naked eye.
